First thing a photographer must do is to know and consult the family when they would like to pose for the family portrait.  As a San Diego photographer I see that the timing of this is different for every wedding.  Some people prefer to take pictures before the wedding.This will give them more time to do things during and after the wedding.  Others prefer after the wedding.  By determining when this will be you will be better prepared.

Next, you should determine the exact starting time of the wedding itself.  This way you can capture great shots of guests arriving.  As a San Diego wedding photographer this is a great time to capture candid shots of your guests.It would also give you more time to prepare all that is needed for the big ceremony.

Finally, you should determine the time of the reception.This is important since you will know how much time you have left.  In other words you can figure out what kind of extra shots you can take before running out of time.  Doing wedding as a event photography San Diego allows me to coordinate this big event to run smoothly.You do not want being disorganized doing these kinds of events.

It should help you be better prepared to take some great shots.A wedding can be a very tiring event.It puts a lot of pressure on everybody involved.You would not want to be one of them as the wedding photographer.You should just be relaxed all throughout the event so that you can do your best work.

First thing you want to make sure you find is a photographer you like.  It seems to go without saying.  But I have heard many horror stories as a San Diego photographer of people choosing photographers they don’t get along with.  This creates problems several ways.  They could be stubborn and take photos they want rather than what you want.He/She might not be suited to work with you since he/she might not be able to bring out the best in you.  Choose someone you like is key.

Another thing is make sure you choose someone with style.  That sounds vague.  What I am referring to is photography is an art.Go find someone who has the ability to put some artistry into your wedding photos so that the emotions during that day will be felt even by just looking at the pictures.But art is subjective and it depends on the persnality and the likes of the person.So go find a photographer whose style is the one that suits you most.  All my clients of my San Diego wedding photographer service go through my portfolio so they can see what style of work I have.

Finally you want to pick a photographer who has handled big events.  Why do I say big events?Because a wedding is a big event.Finding a photographer with an experience in event photography will be good for you.  As a event photography San Diego service I have seen first hand how that has helped in my wedding photography work.

Abiding by these steps will help you in finding the right wedding photographer for you.  For a day as important as a wedding you want to choose right.

But one of the biggest things they fail to plan for on the wedding day is the photographer. Don’t think this is something small.  And I am not just saying it because I am a wedding photographer. 

No planning the wedding day with the wedding photographer in mind could mean all the difference in the world. Especially when you realize that the photos are what are going to last a lifetime.

What are some of the factors when you start planning with the photographer in mind.  The time and the date.

First let’s start thinking about the time.  How many people do you think would want their photographer to rush taking the photos? I am pretty certain that most people, couples especially, will not raise their hand to that thought. 

Well without even thinking about your photographer, a lot of times couples will do just that. The couple or family basically rush the photographer to try and take all the pictures. 

How so you ask?  Well a lot of times, the couple will schedule the ceremony for let’s say 1-2 pm. With the reception beginning at 2:30. How many shots can a photographer make when he only has a half hour to work with? Not that many.

Worse thing to consider, what if he does manage to take all the photos? Do you think they can take some real good shots if they are being rushed?  Of course not.

So plan the wedding and reception with enough time in between to take the photos.

The second factor to consider when planning is to check your photographer’s availability.

Most probably don’t realize this, but most good photographers will be booked months in advance.  And if you are dealing with let’s say a large photography company, they may have several photographers.

Well planning your wedding without considering your photographer’s availability could turn into a nightmare.  Because if you book that special day and don’t make sure that the actual photographer will be available, when your wedding day comes you might be shocked to find someone totally different.

This happens more than you can imagine when dealing with a big photography company.  You might not realize they have plenty of photographers on staff, and if the photographer you fell in love with is booked, unless you specifically ask, the company might not tell you. When the wedding day comes, a second rate photographer or worse yet, they might outsource the work and somebody else will show up.

So be ready by not letting this happen.Making plans for your wedding day is special. Be sure that you also plan it thinking about your wedding photographer.
