What Is Efficient Article Marketing? The Answer Will Depend Upon Your Business Goals
Asking the question, “What is successful article marketing?”, is almost like telling the tale of the 6 blind men and the elephant. Do you remember it?
The first blind guy was touching the tail and he offered his opinion that an elephant is rope-like. A different man said that an elephant is like a pillar. (He had been touching one of the legs.) Then a third guy says he can’t believe how wrong they both could be. He had been feeling one of the tusks, so his take on the subject was that an elephant is like a pipe — a solid pipe.
Yet another guy spoke up. He had just been touching the trunk. “I don’t know what you 3 have been drinking”, he said, “but an elephant is obviously like a tree branch”. Then the guy who was feeling the belly of the beast laughed and said they all were wrong, because an elephant is obviously like a wall. The last blind man, who had been checking out one of the ears, reported that an elephant, is like a large, flat, hand fan that you can use to keep yourself cool.
Then a wise man who was among them said that they all were partially right, but none of them had the full appreciation of the elephant. Well, article marketing is similar in the sense that some people think that article marketing is the thing that you do to make sales commissions from their affiliate websites.

Done properly article promotion can see great excellent results in a very cheap way. Bum marketing done poorly could be a huge waste of time, energy, and even money.
First mistake – making a dull title. Realize that the title of the article is going to be mixed in with quite a few others that your potential reader has to choose from. There are numerous of you competing for a similar set of eyes. Do not let your title be something that will blend in with all of the rest. Make is something that may stand out and get noticed. Make sure that you aren’t getting too crazy and ensure that it has relevancy to the topic you need to address, but , still be creative and you may stay competitive with other article marketers.
Second mistake – not having a clear purpose. What’s the main reason you want the reader to read your article? Is there a goal that you have in mind? Be clear as to what you want them to do and give them lots of reason to need to take the action you would like them to take. Have a place to begin and and ending point in planning your article and use everything in between to help them get from point ‘A’ to indicate ‘B’. This is something that article marketers do not do all too commonly.
3rd mistake – not knowing your target audience. Article marketers need to keep in mind who your target market is write to their level. If you are writing to a grouping of people who are sometimes extraordinarily knowledgeable about the topic matter, then you better ensure that you are too. The Importance of Developing a Sound and Fundamental Marketing Plan
Do you find that you keep getting off point with your internet business? Have you made a few dollars online, but don’t know what you did to bring that money in? Then understanding the importance of developing a sound and fundamental marketing plan will be critical to your online success.
I read somewhere online that 90% of all internet marketers will fail or quit within the first year. Why is that? Internet marketing isn’t really hard to learn – but I think most people are misled when they read headlines like Make A Half A Million Over Night and when it doesn’t happen, they get discouraged.
Internet Marketing Is Not Rocket Science
It really isn’t – it’s about the exponential factor. If you take two cents ($.02) and double its exponent (2 x2 = 4, 4x 2= 8, 8×2 = 16) every day for thirty days at the end of 30 days you will have $10,737,418.24. That’s starting from 2 cents on the first day. The breaking point in this formula is basically half way through the month. This is exactly the way that internet marketing works — it’s all about the numbers.

Does link Exchange help with SEO?
I started researching what is now known as SEO about 13 years ago. I tried over and over to build the site that I dreamed would rank at the top of Google. At the time I began the key apparently was Meta Tags. I made meta tags just like my competition, and made by key word density for the words in those tags higher. I figured that would easily put me to the top. I waited for months on sites, and I never moved at all. One thing I did find interesting is there were some reputable sites that were stuffing words in like pornography, XXX etc to try to capture free traffic on highly searched words even though their sites were not relevant to those results. Basically after nearly duplicating sites I never improved my rankings.
The next thing I noticed is that all sites in a great position had thousands of pages in the Google index. The problem with this is many of my sites are simple sales pages, and I can’t create that much content. I then stumbled across Traffic Booster Pro. This program seemed fantastic. I would generate unique content pages for a site and show them to a search engine, but then redirect the users to my website. I used this and it worked very well until Google crawled my site so much it crashed my data center. My rankings instantly disappeared, and even after the site was back up, and I scaled back the amount Google crawled. My rankings never reappeared. I had be penalized by Google for all the generated content. This was a short lived method to get some traffic and I spent 100 bucks on it.
I studied some Guru’s and they said link exchanges were effective. The more links the better. I joined a site called Linkmarket.net and set up my page to exchange links. This is worthless, 400 links later I didn’t see a change in rankings. I decided to see if the Guru’s were really using this strategy. I go on their websites and they have no partner directories or instructions on exchanging links. They already know this is ineffective. I again so no results from this action. Links do help though. A search for click here on Google leads to a result of number one for Adobe. Best part is Adobe doesn’t have the words click here anywhere on the page. Links work, just not exchanged links.
