Decide to give your attention to email reading/writing maybe twice during your day.

You probably realize that online business communications need to be read/replied to with a short period, usually a day or two. This kind of organization keeps you focused on your business tasks and relieves you of feeling like every email is urgent and needs your immediate attention.

Impose some organization on all your emails. However, you don’t need to make it tough or hard. Simply create a folder for each client and file all communications in it. If you do this, you’ll find that the only emails remaining in your inbox are those that you have not tended to, yet. As time goes by, you can create yearly folders to track the amount of business with each client.

As soon as you make an appointment, record it on your calendar and appointment book. Use resources such as email reminders for any important dates that won’t occur for some time off. There is a much higher risk of forgetting an appointment if you don’t write it down immediately. You know the dangers of missing an important call or meeting, so you know you want to avoid that. Writing them down as soon as you make them will keep this from happening.

You’ll see more revenue the more you put into getting your business organized. This will only force you to be more efficient and smooth running. Keeping tabs on your business is much less difficult if you’ll only organize it.
