A Crash Course In Website SEO
When you ask the Average Joe, SE Optimization is something akin to black magic. As a Guaranteed Houston SEO, I believe part of this misunderstanding is due to all the crap taught by scores of people calling their self SEO experts. For some, this is because they don’t have a clue about SEO while others do it to keep their Clients in the dark about what they really do. SEO is not brain surgery folks. It’s as simple as optimizing your website with a few keywords to tell the search engines what your Website is about. Make it easy for the search eninges to determine what your site is about and show them your site is relevant to the term being searched for and they will reward you with higher rankings.
To start with, one should make certain your main keywords are part of the domain name if at all possible. With everything being equal, a Website with keywords in the address will rank higher than a website without the keywords in the domain name.
Next, the keyword or keyword phrase should be added in the Website’s Title. This helps the search engines figure out what it is that you Website is all about.
It’s important to make certain keywords are a part of the Title of every page on your site, or at least, some parts of a keyword phrase should be in the page Title. This has the same effect as putting keywords in the Title of your Website in that it helps the search engines determine what the subject of the page is, what it’s about and how relevant it is to the search term being searched for. As an added benefit, the website should be coded in such a manner as to include the Title of each page in a H1 tag. There should only be one H1 tag per page for the best results. Search engines give a lot of value to the H1 tag and so it’s important in good SEO practices. If your Houston web designer does not know how to do this, fire them and find one that understands SEO.
Now that you have those three things out of the way, it’s crucial that the keywords you want to rank for show up in the content of the page. For best results, you should insert the keywords into the first paragraph somewhere and several more times througout the article depending on the length. It’s also important to put it near the end of the page or article. A few more times between the first and last paragraph won’t hurt, just be sure you work them in the beginning and end.
Finally, the most important aspect of Website SE Optimization actually takes place off the page. In fact, it takes place off the site altogether. In my opinion, the most important thing in in getting a higher ranking in Google is backlinks pointing to your Web page. And it’s not enough to just get backlinks, these links back to your site need to have your keywords as the Anchor text of the links back to your site.
How important are backlinks? Well, I can rank a website that doesn’t have the keywords in the domain, one that doesn’t have keywords in the Website Title, Page Title and in the Content (although it’s much, much harder to do), but without targeted backward links leading back to your site, {it is nearly impossible} to rank a site in Google for any terms that are the least bit in high demand.
