Find Out If It's A Hot Product

If you want to find out whether your hobby could be turned into a hot selling product but you don't know how to do that, I have a quick easy tip for you.

 

This passion of yours -- it could be a hobby. Or maybe even your job. Anything you're good at, really, because we can often turn whatever we're passionate about into a lucrative side business by developing a hot ebook or some other saleable "information product" from your passion-based knowledge.

How do you do that? First, you have to know if it's something people will actually buy.

And THAT is the main point of this short article, so here goes...

HOW TO FIND OUT IF IT'S A HOT PRODUCT

Keyword Discovery (http://keyworddiscovery.com/search.html) has a free keyword suggestion tool that also shows you how many times people have searched for whatever words you type in. Use it to help you test the waters... to see if there is sufficient demand.

Let's say your hobby is fishing. You could write about how to scale a fish. Personally I don't exactly know how to do that and maybe I'm not the only one. Let's see.

So at KeywordDiscovery.com, type in "How do I scale a fish?" Oops, that brings up load of results for the kind of fish scales that weigh fish. Hmmm. Not what we expected.

But let's keep refining our search with related terms. Try "scaling fish", "remove fish scales", etc. See what we are doing here? - we're entering related terms.

Do a bit of brainstorming and write down all the related terms you can think. Both synonyms and words for concepts, appliances, tools, habits, clothing, etc that go with whatever your hobby item is.

By searching for all the related terms you can think of, you will either find that it is indeed a popular topic or it is not.

Either way, you're ahead because there is no point in doing all the work to create an ebook or an audio report, etc. on something that won't sell.

On the other hand, if your "thing" is popular, you've now also turned up a set of related keywords to use both in promoting your final product and in writing the articles that form part of your information product.
